
The first place to visit is the Imperial Palace. The palace is calm and quiet from inside which is almost unbelievable, given the hustle and bustle of the city. This is the home of Japan’s Head of the State and is available for pubic tour. Foreigners can apply online for a scheduled tour inside. The gardens around the palace, including the famous East Garden, are available to the public for free.
Attractions are shrines such as the Sensoji and the Sumida River. The Sensoji Temple is one of the most vital places of worship in the city. It is a Buddhist temple that was made in the 7th century. On the way to the temple is the Nakamise-dori, a pedestrian street where vendors can be found selling various snacks as well as jewelry. One should also visit Shinto shrine in the city well known as the Meiji Shrine. The shrine is located inside a forest that is situated in the heart of the city.
The Ueno Park museum is also a favorite tourist spot in the city. Museums like Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, the National Museum of Western art, And the Tokyo National Museum are in the same park. Located in Taito-ku, the park is exceptionally beautiful on the months of March and early April as cherry blossoms beautify the place. For the tourists, attending a sumo match is also must.
